I apologize for the hiatus.
I am currently on maternity leave from work, and decided to give myself a maternity leave from blogging as well so I could have uninterrupted time with our newest addition. Now I'm back and ready to share the story of our newest addition...Emerson Marie.
We welcomed baby girl Emerson Marie on March 31st, 2015 at 7:51 AM.
She was a little peanut, weighing in at 6lbs 13oz and measuring 19" long.
Highlights of her birth:
Planned c-sectionon = wayyyy better than last minute take the baby out c-section experience in every conceivable way.
Not knowing the gender....so cool. I will never forget the sound of Steven's voice yelling out, "IT'S A GIRL!!"
The moment Mason held his little sister for the first time...there are no words. I can only hope he is as sweet to her when they are teenagers as he has been since her birth.

She is 6 weeks old today and we've been loving every minute of having a little girl in our home.
I can't believe that I was ever hoping for another boy. I clearly needed an outlet for buying pink clothes and hair bows.
We are relieved to say that she does NOT have colic...Mason's showed up right around 2 weeks of age and so far so good on that front. She has her moments of reminding us that she has lungs, but overall she is a much happier newborn baby than he was.

Overall we are basically in heaven. We have our little boy...we have our little girl...and life is awesome.
Now that you have the latest update on our "little birds" I'm excited to foreshadow the coming blog postings as they will involve MAJOR changes to our "little nest". We are taking on a project I swore up and down that I would never do, and so far it has been slightly stressful but mostly just exciting. More on that later :)
XOXO,
Laurel
